  1. Maricopa County Animal Care and Control shelter is reportedly at full capacity. The shelter is asking the community to assist in emptying the kennels. If you are not prepared to adopt, the shelter is asking you to consider fostering. The increased capacity is causing unnecessary stress for shelter occupants. (12news.com KPNX)
  2. The City of Phoenix has been awarded $25 million in federal transportation grants. The funds will be used to construct a bike and pedestrian bridge across the Salt River. The bridge will reportedly connect downtown Phoenix with the south side of the city. Residents will have greater access to city resources after the bridge is constructed. (KJZZ)
  3. The Phoenix Police Department reports that a bicyclist was already lying on the road before getting struck by a vehicle on Wednesday night. The incident occurred at the intersection of 39th Avenue and Camelback Road around 9:45 p.m. The bicyclist died at a local hospital. The department is investigating why the cyclist was lying on the road in the first place. (Arizona's Family)
