- On Thursday afternoon, a multi-vehicle collision occurred resulting in one death and critical injuries. The accident took place near 23rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road at about 2 p.m., according to the Phoenix Fire Department. When firefighters arrived, an individual had to be extricated from a wrecked vehicle. Three people were taken to the hospital; one of them, 28-year-old Cole Boaz, reportedly did not survive. The Phoenix police are investigating how the collision occurred. (12News)
- Residents should expect multiple closures on Phoenix-area freeways this weekend. On Interstate 10, the eastbound lanes will be shut down between US 60 and Loop 202 Santan from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, to 4 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26. The northbound lanes of Loop 303 will be closed between Van Buren Street and Happy Valley Parkway from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. Lastly, Interstate 17 will be restricted to two lanes in both directions between Dunlap and Peoria avenues starting at 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. (Fox10)
- The Arizona State Fair kicked off yesterday in Phoenix. It will run Thursdays through Sundays from now until Oct. 30. Tickets are $15 for anyone 8 or older, and kids 7 and under are free. Community members can purchase fair tickets online or onsite at the fairgrounds' entry gates. Visit the fair’s website for ticket purchases and opening hours. (Phoenix New Times)

- The Phoenix Fire Department reminds residents of an upcoming trail closure. On Monday, September 26, Echo Canyon Trail at Camelback Mountain will be closed due to the repaving of McDonald Dr. (Phoenix Fire Department via Facebook)
