PHOENIX, AZ — Arizona Diamondbacks' veteran southpaw Madison Bumgarner has been named the National League's co-Player of the Week.

Bumgarner, who threw a seven-inning no-hitter against the Atlanta Braves over the weekend, won the award for the second time in his 13-year MLB career.

He and San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr., shared the honor on the senior circuit side, while Texas Rangers rookie outfielder Adolis Garcia won the honor on the American League side.

Bumgarner became the first MLB pitcher since 2007 to not allow a hit during a seven-inning shutout against Atlanta.

So far this season, Bumgarner has a 2-2 record with a 6.31 ERA in five starts. The 33-year-old has averaged 9.5 strikeouts-per-nine-innings-pitched this year.

Bumgarner will look to continue his hot streak when he takes the rubber again, against the Colorado Rockies at Chase Field on Saturday evening.

The veteran has been successful, both on the mound and at the plate, against Colorado during his career.

He once smashed a home run in a game against the Rockies in 2019 and has the most home runs (19) of any active Major League starting pitcher.
