Huge Fire Breaks Out At Central Phoenix Apartment Complex
The apartment complex has been under construction for several months and was still in the framing stage, which gave way to a massive fire.
PHOENIX — The Phoenix Fire Department responded to a massive fire at a central Phoenix apartment complex, officials said. The complex had been under construction for months.
Crews arrived on the scene around 6 a.m. Tuesday morning to find the two-story apartment building near 12th Street and Indian School Road completely engulfed in flames, according to tweets from the Phoenix Fire Department. The fire was eventually pronounced a two-alarm, meaning more units were requested to fight the blaze.
"Crews were able to achieve knockdown on the fire approximately 45 minutes into the fire fight," the department announced in a Facebook post. "Crews will remain on the scene over the next couple hours to put out all remaining hotspots."

Firefighters were still putting out hot spots a couple of hours into the fight. No firefighters were injured in the process, according to officials, and crews were able to stop the flames from reaching nearby businesses.
An investigation is ongoing and the fire investigations accelerant detection canine is involved in determining the cause.
