July 4 Fireworks 2022 Canceled In Phoenix

Even with Phoenix's signature Independence Day events canceled, there are other places in the Valley that are still celebrating.

PHOENIX, AZ — Supply chain issues have put a damper on Independence Day in Phoenix this year, with all of the city's signature fireworks events canceled.

Phoenix's Parks and Recreation department canceled Fabulous Phoenix Fourth, Light Up the Sky at the American Family Fields and After Dark in the Park because the city could not get fireworks for the events.

"Unfortunately, much like many other municipalities, Phoenix has been affected by the ongoing supply chain issues," Marty Whitfield, Parks and Recreation assistant director said in a June 10 announcement. "The City's contractor was unable to secure fireworks for the events. We apologize to our community for the inconvenience."
