Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:
- Weekend commuters should plan their travels accordingly due to the upcoming road closures on major freeways around metro Phoenix. Interstate 10 will close both directions in the East Valley for construction. Sections of I-17 and U.S. 60 will also be closed, and the Arizona Department of Transportation has several recommendations based on where you are traveling from and to. More details about the closures are available at the link. (Arizona's Family)
- Nickelback will be making an appearance in the Phoenix area in July. The band's 2023 Get Rollin' Tour will stop at the Footprint Center on Jul. 12. Tickets go on sale today at 10:00 a.m. and range from $35-$200. (KTAR.com)
- The Phoenix City Council met earlier this week to vote on spending $230 million over the next five years. The funding will go toward purchasing low- and no-emission buses to reduce emissions in the city. Voting began back in December to transition to a zero-emission fleet by 2040.
