Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:

  1. Fry's grocery store sold a winning Mega Millions ticket. The winning ticket, which was worth $2 million, was purchased at the grocery store, but the winner has not claimed the prize yet. The five winning numbers — 2, 15, 30, 36, and 63 — had a Megaplier 2x bonus. (KTAR.com)
  2. The 9th Annual Concours in the Hills raised record-breaking funds. Held on Feb. 4, the final count of the event's proceeds, which benefits Phoenix Children's Hospital, has been tallied. The event smashed its previous record by raising $485,898 through sponsorships, registration, food vendors, donations, and donated services. The money raised goes directly to children in need of life-saving medical services. (citysuntimes)
  3. Do you really know the mayor of Phoenix? Kate Gallego became our mayor in 2019 and is up for reelection in 2024. She grew up in New Mexico, graduated from Harvard University, and has a master of business administration from the University of Pennsylvania. As Mayor, Gallego has advocated for more economic development, focused on high-wage jobs, and created measures to make Phoenix a more sustainable desert city. (Subscription: The Arizona Republic)

The artist's solo exhibit “You Can Hear the Song of This Town” is intended to capture the intricacies of the human mind in an instant. His largest piece is a massive collage of countless details, anime-inspired characters, video game-looking emojis, and words in English and Japanese. (KJZZ)
