Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:

  1. Thomas H. Begay, one of the last living Navajo Code Talkers, spoke at an event at the Arizona Capitol on Sunday honoring Navajo Code Talkers Day. The group participated in all U.S. Marine assaults during World War 2 in the Pacific theater between 1942 and 1945. They conveyed messages through a code that wasn't broken. Arizona celebrates National Navajo Code Talkers Days every year on Aug. 14. (The Arizona Republic)
  2. Armed supporters of former President Donald Trump gathered in front of FBI offices in Phoenix on Saturday. The supporters were attempting to intimidate the agency in response to its raid on Trump's Florida resort. There have been an unprecedented number of threats made against the agency since the raid occurred. (KOLD)
  3. The Phoenix Fire Department hosted a career day on Saturday morning. The event was meant as a way for potential recruits to experience how the department operates. The department demonstrated a mountain rescue simulation and a fire call during the event. (12news.com KPNX)
