PHOENIX — The story of Lori Vallow, a woman who has been charged in the mysterious deaths of her two children, is about to get the "20/20" treatment.

The ABC News program will air a special on the former Chandler resident on Friday at 7 p.m. Mountain Time — one year after her arrest in Hawaii.

Vallow and her husband Chad Daybell are facing trial for the disappearance and subsequent deaths of 7-year-old J.J. Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan, who were found buried on Daybell's property. She has been charged with the desertion and nonsupport of dependent children, and she and Daybell have both been charged with the concealing and destroying of evidence.

The two-hour special will focus on the year-long investigation and the details of Vallow's past spanning several states, including Arizona. The special dives into her broken marriages and ex-spouses’ deaths, and will feature interviews with Chandler police officers. Vallow is considered a person of interest in the death of her estranged husband, Charles Vallow, who was killed by Lori's brother Alex Cos in his East Valley home in July 2019. She married Daybell just weeks later.

Police in Rexburg, Idaho, began investigating the whereabouts of the children after relatives expressed alarm they hadn't heard from them. Vallow never reported them missing and traveled to Hawaii with Daybell amid the investigation.

The show will also discuss Daybell’s doomsday books and Vallow's beliefs that her children were zombies.

“20/20” co-anchor Amy Robach sat down for interviews with Kay and Larry Woodcock, J.J.'s grandparents, as well as Vallow's mom, sister and other friends and family members.

It will also report on the latest news in the case, including the fact that Vallow and Daybell both pleaded not guilty to the charges they are facing.

Anchored by David Muir and Robach, "20/20" airs on ABC every Friday and is available to stream on all ABC News digital platforms and Hulu.

This isn't the only special report on Vallow and Daybell: NBC's "Dateline" recently released a podcast detailing the story called "Mommy Doomsday."
