  2. According to The Director of Street Transportation Department in Phoenix, Kini Knudson, Phoenix is one of the worst cities in roadway fatalities. To try to reduce the number of fatalities, the street transportation department has begun to work with the University of Arizona to study whether adding time to yellow lights might help reduce accidents. The change would add between 0.2 and 0.6 seconds to yellow lights at 12 different intersections. There are currently sensors and adjusted lights at 12 intersections; results from the study will be released in the spring. (Arizona's Family)
