- The high demand for houses and rentals in Phoenix is causing prices to soar. And that is pricing some working class people out of the city entirely, whether they're looking to rent or to buy. The average price of a one-bedroom rental in Phoenix is around $1,200 per month, far more than many people can afford. (AZ Big Media)
- A former hotel in north Phoenix is set to house and offer services to homeless veterans. On Veterans Day U.S. Vets cut the ribbon on the new facility, located near Cactus Road and Interstate 17. The organization had to leave its former facility last year when the rent doubled, so the city purchased and renovated the hotel so that the veterans will have a safe place to sleep, along with the services they need.
