PHOENIX, AZ — The city of Phoenix Parks and Recreations Department has canceled all three of its annual fireworks events for 2022 because of supply chain issues.

The department acknowledged in a news release how important these events are to the community and added that it's disappointed that the celebrations had to be canceled.

“Unfortunately, much like many other municipalities, Phoenix has been affected by the ongoing supply chain issues," Marty Whitfield, Parks and Recreation assistant director said in a statement. "The City's contractor was unable to secure fireworks for the events. We apologize to our community for the inconvenience."
The city of Tucson told Patch that it won't know whether its annual fireworks show will happen this year until it hears from its supplier June 20.
