Phoenix Mercury Announce 2021 WNBA Schedule
The Phoenix Mercury will open its 32-game WNBA schedule against the Minnesota Lynx on May 14. Here's what to know about the upcoming season.

PHOENIX, AZ — The Phoenix Mercury will kick off the team's 25th season against the Minnesota Lynx on May 14.
That tidbit was among the news items released by the team on Tuesday, along with the fact that the Mercury will play in front of a crowd of 5,000 fans at downtown's Phoenix Suns Arena.
The three-time WNBA champions will hold their home opener at 7 p.m. May 21 against the Connecticut Sun and will play a 32-game regular season schedule, the team said.

“Our fans have not been able to see their team in person since September 2019, more than 19 months ago,” said Mercury Chief Operating Officer Vince Kozar. “Following the direction of health and wellness experts from the state, county and NBA/WNBA, and following the lead of the Suns, who have been safely hosting fans since February, we are excited to welcome the X-Factor to our transformed home in downtown Phoenix. We will host all of our PayPal X-Factor season ticket members, and all remaining ticket inventory will go on sale on a per-game basis in the coming weeks.”
The Mercury will play its regular season across 128 days, with 16 home and 16 road games.

The 2021 WNBA season will include a 34-day break from July 11 through Aug. 14 to allow players to compete in the 2021 Summer Olympics.
The Mercury will be led offensively by the WNBA's all-time leading scorer, Diana Taurasi, as well as veterans Brittney Griner and Skylar Diggins-Smith.
Phoenix is looking to tie the league's record in 2021 as the franchise looks to capture its fourth WNBA title.
