Phoenix PD Arrests Suspect In Connection With 11th St. Homicide
Phoenix police Wednesday booked a 19-year-old suspect on one count of first-degree murder in a January shooting death near 11th and Grovers.

PHOENIX, AZ — Phoenix police arrested Laverdous Moore, 19, Wednesday in connection with a Jan. 22 homicide near 11th Street and Grovers Avenue.
Around 10:15 p.m. Jan. 22, Phoenix police were called to a park near 11th St. and Grovers Avenue in Phoenix on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived at the park, they found Kolby Peterson, 21, with a gunshot wound. Phoenix Fire medics were also dispatched to the park and took Peterson to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Initially police had no motive or suspect in the case; however, during the next three weeks they developed probable cause to arrest Moore. Officers took Moore into custody around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday near 7th Street and Bell Road. He was booked into jail on one count of first-degree murder.
