Phoenix PD: Rollover Crash Victim Had Been Shot While Driving

The Phoenix Police Department is investigating after it discovered a man killed in a single-car rollover crash had been shot in the head.

PHOENIX — Phoenix police are investigating after the victim in a single-car rollover crash was found with a gunshot wound in the head Thursday afternoon.

The Phoenix Police Department said in a news release that officers responded to a calls of a rollover crash at 7th Avenue and Gibson Road in south Phoenix around 1:45 p.m. The driver was identified as 39-year-old Larry Milligan.

"The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene by the Phoenix Fire Department," Sgt. Ann Justus, a department spokesperson, said in a statement. "Upon inspection of the injuries, it was determined that Milligan had sustained a gunshot wound."

Justus said that surveillance footage indicates that Milligan was shot while driving. A green car spotted in the footage has been identified as a "vehicle of interest."
