Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:
- On Friday, the City of Phoenix launched its permanent Shared Micro-Mobility Program. The launch started with a special event featuring vendors Lime and Spin, who showcased their e-scooters, e-bikes, and more to downtown stakeholders and the media. Now, each vendor is permitted to deploy up to 1,500 vehicles which can be operated between 5:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. daily. (Signals AZ)
- A Phoenix robotics firm is selling its first community of 3D-printed homes. Diamond Age, which moved its headquarters from California to Phoenix last year, is selling the homes for over $200,000 and is building them using full-stack robotics within 60 days, according to CEO Jack Oslan. "Our system will ultimately offset 60 percent of the manual labor required to build a new home," Osland said. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
- Following a federal investigation, a Phoenix electrical contractor has been ordered to pay employees $740,000 in back wages and damages. IES Residential, a subsidiary of IES Holdings Inc., violated the Fair Labor Standards Act by denying 255 workers overtime pay and falsifying records in a “willful disregard of labor laws," according to the Department of Labor on Monday. In addition, the contractor was hit with a $20,000 fine in civil penalties. (KTAR.com)
