Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:

  1. Phoenix police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning, Feb. 8. According to police, one man died near 71st Avenue and McDowell after being shot. Police said no suspects had been arrested at this time. (Fox 10 Phoenix)
  2. Phoenix police arrested a man for trespassing for climbing the tallest skyscraper in Phoenix without any safety harnesses on Tuesday morning, Feb. 7. Maison Des Champs succeeded in climbing Chase Tower, on the intersection of East Van Buren Street and West Monroe Street, by scaling a three-foot-wide channel located on the exterior of the building. He reached about 483 feet high, passing 40 stories. Champs posted a video on his Instagram account halfway through his climb. (WHIO TV 7)
  3. The Super Bowl LVII and the Waste Management Phoenix Open, two major events with many spectators, are occurring in Phoenix this week. ABC15 toured the technology that makes these events possible – including cable, internet, phones, and security installations. Randoll Loar and his team at Cox Business brought in 35-foot towers on wheels to beam wireless internet to the spectators. Each tower has three points of access with an 80-foot signal.
