Power Restored At Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport: Delays Ongoing
Southwest and American Airlines are seeing significant delays and cancellations at Sky Harbor and some flights were diverted.

PHOENIX, AZ — Power was restored to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport's Terminal 4 around 2 p.m. Monday, after being out for around 6 hours.
A power outage that started at 8 a.m. Monday caused significant delays and cancellations. The equipment failure that caused the outage injured one power company worker, according to a statement from Arizona Public Service.
The power company worker was taken to an area hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, the power company said.

Dozens of flights on American and Southwest Airlines in and out of Phoenix were delayed, cancelled or diverted Monday morning. All ticketing, gate and other operations for Southwest and American Airlines at Sky Harbor were impacted, according to a TSA spokesperson.
As of around 11:45 a.m. Monday, American and Southwest Airlines began releasing flights for departure and arrival, and some diverted flights were being rerouted to Phoenix, Sky Harbor said in a statement.

Terminal 4 is the busiest terminal at Sky Harbor.
Even though power has been restored, Sky Harbor still recommends that travelers check their flight status before heading to the airport.
The outage occurred when a piece of equipment failed as an Arizona Public Service crew performed routine maintenance Monday morning, according to the APS statement.
