- There is an abundance of restaurants offering free meals to veterans and active-duty military today to thank them for their service. Check out our list for some local options as well as a list of some of the national chains offering free meals. Although the parades in Tempe and Tucson were canceled, Phoenix's big Veterans Day parade is still on for today. See more deals in our event listings, below. (Phoenix Patch)
- Kyle Rittenhouse, the man on trial for shooting three people and killing two of them during a protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin last year, is enrolled at Arizona State University. Rittenhouse enrolled in online nursing classes in October as a non-degree seeking student. His trial in Wisconsin is underway right now. (Phoenix New Times)
- Jose Jimenez was finally discharged from Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix Tuesday, after spending five months battling and recovering from COVID-19. He will have to spend more time at Banner Rehabilitation Hospital before he can head home. Jimenez was 59 when he caught COVID-19 but was healthy and was working two jobs at the time. He lost 60 pounds during his illness and will have to work on regaining strength so he can walk again. (AZ Big Media)
- Phoenix Art Museum is bouncing back from a difficult past two years. The COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacted pretty much all museums as the public avoided large gathering places, but the Phoenix Art Museum also dealt with multiple changes in leadership during that time. But things are looking better for the museum, with attendance trending up and the award of a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. (KJZZ)
