'Significant' I-10 Closures Planned For Weekend of April 1: AZDOT
Get the details of the several construction closures planned for the Phoenix metro area over the weekend.

PHOENIX, AZ — If you've got plans in the Valley this weekend, leave early and plan ahead to avoid construction closures across the Phoenix metro area, including I-10.
Westbound I-10 will be closed for pavement sealing between the I-17 split near Sky Harbor Airport and 19th Avenue from 11 p.m. Friday to 11 p.m. Saturday, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Westbound ramps within the closure, including the westbound Sky Harbor Boulevard ramp to I-10 west will be closed during this time.
The official detour for the I-10 west closure is on I-17, reconnecting with I-10 at the stack interchange north of Van Buren Street. The DOT encourages drivers to find other routes to entirely avoid the closed area. Drivers leaving the west side of Sky Harbor Airport should consider using Buckeye Road or 24th Street as alternate routes, the department said in a news release.

Those headed east on I-10 should exit ahead of the closure and using alternate routes like McDowell Road or Van Buren Street.

Loop 101 south will be narrowed to one lane between Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Thunderbird Road in Scottsdale from 8 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday for pavement maintenance.
Drivers on the Loop 101 are advised to allow for extra travel time or to consider using Hayden Road to Cactus Road to avoid the restriction.
I-10 west will be narrowed to three lanes between Broadway Road and State Route 143/48th Street from 10 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday for work on the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project. The Highway 60 HOV lane ramp to westbound I-10 will be closed.
The department advises drivers to be prepared to slow down and merge cautiously when approaching and traveling through this work zone.
The right lane of I-17 will be closed near Dunlap Avenue from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights for a Valley Metro light rail construction project. The northbound I-17 onramp at Dunlap Avenue will be closed. The lane will also be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday.
