Silver Alert Issued For Missing 81-Year-Old Phoenix Woman

Charlene Carol Mensay has dementia and has been missing since Monday afternoon, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

PHOENIX — Officials have issued a Silver Alert after an 81-year-old Phoenix woman with dementia was reported missing Monday afternoon.

Silver Alerts are issued when anyone over the age of 65 or someone with developmental and cognitive disabilities goes missing.

Charlene Carol Mensay was last seen walking around 1:30 p.m. near 47th and Southern avenues, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety website. At 7:30 p.m., a witness saw Charlene get into her car near 38th Avenue and Glendale Avenue and leave in an unknown direction.

The Phoenix Police Department is heading up the search for Mensay, who is described as 5 foot 3 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with white hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans, and may be driving a 2007 maroon convertible PT Cruiser with the temporary tag number 5DA7A4A.
