Arrest Made In Hit-And-Run That Killed 9-Year-Old Boy
Tucson police said they had arrested the driver in Wednesday's hit-and-run crash that killed a 9-year-old and injured his brother.
TUCSON, AZ — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a 9-year-old boy in Tucson Wednesday.
The driver was arrested just a few hours after Tucson Police Department officials identified the car involved in the fatal crash, according to local outlet KOLD. The champagne BMW had been missing since police said it fled the scene on Broadway Boulevard between Sarnoff Drive and MacGuire Avenue.

Edward Lautaire, 9, was killed and his 11-year-old brother, Max Lautaire, were walking across the street with their mother, Valentina, around 5 p.m. when the BMW failed to stop and hit them, according to police. Edward died at the scene while Max was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. He is expected to survive.

According to a GoFundMe set up to support the family, Valentina raised the boys on her own after immigrating to Tucson from the Ukraine. All money raised will go to Max's medical bills and Edward's funeral expenses.
Witnesses to the crash spotted two people the car, but police only made one arrest Friday. No other details were immediately available.
