Video: Maybe This Scottsdale Bobcat Wasn’t Hungry After All?
A Neighbors app video caught a Scottsdale bobcat chasing a nearby rabbit, then quickly giving up. Maybe it wasn't mealtime yet.

ARIZONA — Was the Scottsdale bobcat caught in this Neighbors app video not really hungry when it halfheartedly chased a nearby rabbit, then let it get away? Bobcats are known to eat rabbits, but apparently not always.
In the video, this bobcat on a backyard lawn spots a rabbit nearby on the edge of the lawn, and assumes a slightly pouncing position with tail twitching.
After a couple seconds, the bobcat makes a dash for the rabbit, which quickly scampers away out of sight of the bobcat and the camera. But once the rabbit leaves the yard, the bobcat doesn't continue the chase.

The dialog and sounds the videographer makes and her ability to easily distract the bobcat could leave one wondering if this bobcat might be becoming a pet? If so, was this bobcat simply protecting its territory — or was it not yet mealtime?
It's hard to tell, but that was one lucky rabbit in either case.
