Woman Charged In Sunday North Valley Hit-And-Run

PHOENIX, AZ — A woman has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash at Cave Creek and Sahuaro Road on Sunday night, according to Phoenix Police.

The crash, which occurred just before 8 p.m. on Sunday, killed a female pedestrian, police said.

The driver of the car involved in the crash fled northbound on Cave Creek Road, with police identifying the driver as Melissa Truax, of Phoenix.

Truax was arrested on Monday and charged with leaving an accident resulting in death, a Class 2 Felony, police said. She has a $50,000 bond, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office database.
