- A woman was shot and robbed in Phoenix on Monday. Phoenix police officers responded to 16th Street and Jefferson and learned the woman had been robbed by a man and woman in a car before being shot. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
- The U.S.'s largest independent blood services provider is hosting blood drives amid a national emergency blood shortage. On Jan. 13, Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers will be hosting the 5th Annual Mayor’s Blood Drive from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. The event will take place at the nearby First United Methodist Church of Glendale and all donors will receive a voucher for a free one-day admission to the Waste Management Phoenix Open, a voucher for a free pint of Culver’s frozen custard, and they will be automatically entered into a raffle for two tickets to the Super Bowl. - Scottsdale Mayor David Ortega hosted numerous executive leaders to kick off the planning for the 2023 Scottsdale Jazz Festival. The upcoming festival in nearby Scottsdale will take place on Apr. 29-30 on the lawns surrounding Scottsdale City Hall. Last year's festival brought nearly 2,000 attendees, including audience members from across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. (Daily Independent)
