2 Men Charged In Scottsdale Pawn Shop Burglary

Scottsdale police arrested Travis Stack and Joshua Bess in connection with a burglary at First Pawn on Scottsdale Road. Here's what to know.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ —Two men were charged in connection with a Friday morning burglary at First Pawn on Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale police said.

Travis Stack, 22, and Joshua Bess, 27, were each charged with burglary, theft of a means of transportation, aggravated assault on officers and resisting arrest, police said.

The men were both hospitalized for treatment of possible drug overdoses after the incident, police said.

If convicted, each man faces a maximum sentence of 3.7 years on the burglary charge, two to seven years on the vehicle theft charge, two years on the aggravated assault charge and 180 days on the resisting arrest charge.

The two men were arrested in connection with a burglary that occurred just after 5 a.m. at the pawn shop near Scottsdale Road and Earll Drive, police said.

Police spotted two men inside the pawn shop. Members of the Special Weapons and Tactics team made contact with Bess inside the business, according to police. Bess allegedly fought officers before falling unconscious and being taken into custody, police said. They suspected he suffered from a drug overdose.

Police found Stack unconscious inside the pawn shop and suspected he also fell victim to a drug overdose, police said.

Police also suspect the two mean burglarized and stole a car.
