Here are the top three stories today in Scottsdale:
- Maricopa County Judge Joan Sinclair ruled that Scottsdale would no longer have to share water with Rio Verde residents. The previous arrangement allowed residents of the neighboring community to get their water from a city standpipe, saying the flap isn’t the court’s concern. However, Judge Joan Sinclair stated that people living in the Rio Verde Foothills have not shown the city caused them irreparable harm, and community residents can obtain their water elsewhere. - Prominent Scottsdale-area office buildings will undergo a $29 million renovation. The Dallas-based owner plans to add hospitality-driven amenities that can be shared between the two buildings. Together, the office buildings total 410,000 square feet. (Subscription: The Business Journals)
- A Scottsdale couple was saved from a scam by a CVS store clerk. According to the couple, a team of scammers convinced them to take out thousands of dollars to spend on gift cards. Thankfully, as they purchased three $500 gift cards at a local bank (as directed by the scammer), an employee at a nearby CVS walked by and realized what was going on, alerting them it was a scam and hanging up on the scammer for them.
