Allie, a Daisy Girl Scout, knew she’d have to be extra creative if she wanted to hit her “super-seller” goal of selling 560 boxes of cookies. Thankfully, her mom, Kristen, came up with a clever idea to get her daughter’s sales pitch out to the world.
Instead of selling cookies door to door, Allie’s mom used their Ring Video Doorbell with a Ring Protect subscription to record her daughter’s adorable sales pitch at their own door. Then she shared it with friends, family and on social media. The result? Allie sold over 200 boxes in just 24 hours. And that was just the beginning.

In the video, Allie describes her delicious products and the prices, and even tries to upsell her prospective buyers, asking them if they might like to get up to 12 boxes of Girl Scout cookies. She also asks the viewer what their favorite color is, before skillfully noting that “the boxes are those colors.” (Hint, hint!)
After Kristen posted Allie’s pitch on Facebook, “It got so many comments and shares, so I sent it to our local news station,” Kristen explains. “They did an interview with [Allie], and it took off from there!”

Allie achieved her original goal five times over by selling over 3,000 boxes. She also wanted to share some of her success with others and give back to the community. Her troop has paid it forward by donating $1,000 to pediatric cancer research, 1,000 boxes of cookies to the local nursing homes, and 250 boxes to a Houston, TX food bank that was affected by the recent winter storms.
“Allie has a gift of making everyone around her smile,” Kristen says. “We're just over the moon that she has made millions of people smile when they needed it most,” she adds about Allie’s viral pitch.
While Kristen and her family enjoyed using their Ring device to help Allie sell cookies, they also appreciate the sense of security it helps provide. “We love our Ring Doorbell,” she says. “As parents, we do everything we can to keep our family safe. We love that it [alerts us about] not only who rang our doorbell, but any movement or motion as well.”
Though the sales were great, it wasn't just about selling cookies for Allie and her mom. Kristen hopes that Allie has inspired other Girl Scouts to “to get creative and to find new ways to sell! Because the world certainly needs more love, kindness and Thin Mints.”
