Here are the top three stories today in Scottsdale:

  1. The Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale ended the nine-day event with earning more than $190 million in sales and breaking more than 200 auction world records. During the event, the auction also sold five vehicles for charity, which totaled around $1.89 million. (Subscription: Daily Independent)
  2. A gourmet food market and restaurant in Scottsdale announced it will be closing after being open since September 2022. The owners of Gastromé Market announced the closure on Tuesday, and the shop will be closing its doors for good in two weeks. (The Arizona Republic)
  3. Scottsdale businesses and restaurants are preparing for a busy next two weeks as the Valley prepares to host the Super Bowl and the WM Phoenix Open. The Super Bowl alone is expected to bring in $1 billion into the state and local economy, an increase from the $720 million that was brought in from the 2015 Super Bowl. (Arizona Family)
