Driver Killed, Another Arrested After Scottsdale Car Crash
Speeding sports cars in Scottsdale led to a deadly crash Saturday night and one arrest, police said.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ — One driver was killed and another was arrested following a car crash in Scottsdale on Saturday night, police said.
The Scottsdale Police Department said in a news release that officers were called to a crash near Scottsdale Road and Hummingbird Lane around 6:30 p.m.
"Multiple witnesses reported two sports cars were seen traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Scottsdale Road before one of them lost control and collided with a structural support pillar at the entrance to the Scottsdale Plaza Resort," the statement said.

The driver of that car, 21-year-old Nicholas Meath, died. The second driver, 27-year-old Cameron Groom, was arrested at the scene and charged with manslaughter and endangerment.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
