DUI Task Force To Be On Patrol For St. Patty's Day In Scottsdale

Scottsdale police urge locals not to drive if they're planning to drink alcohol or use marijuana to celebrate the holiday.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — If you're planning to imbibe to celebrate St. Patrick's Day this week, get a safe ride home, local police have urged.

The Scottsdale Police Department, along with the Governor's Office of Highway Safety, the Tempe Mesa and Gilbert police departments, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Public Safety will have a DUI Task Force on patrol during holiday festivities, from Thursday through Sunday, according to a news release.

The task force's goal is to find, "drivers who have made the disastrous decision to drive impaired and remove them from the roadway before they hurt themselves or others."
