Explosion, Fire Destroy Luxury Home In Paradise Valley

The impact of the explosion also caused damage to nine other houses in the area, near Piestewa Peak.

PARADISE VALLEY, AZ — One home was destroyed and several more were damaged in an explosion in Paradise Valley Saturday afternoon, KTAR reported.

The fire happened around 4:40 p.m. near the intersection of 36th Street and Lincoln Drive.

No one was at home at the time of the explosion in the house that bore the brunt of the impact, Fox 10 reported.

While the fire from the explosion was contained to the home that was destroyed, nine other houses were damaged by the explosion's impact.

Technicians were on scene Saturday to look for hazardous materials. Natural gas did not cause the explosion, a spokesperson for Southwest Gas told the Arizona Republic on Saturday.
