Here are the top three stories in Scottsdale today:
- A Scottsdale woman's dog was reportedly mauled by two loose dogs. Rebecca Potter and two dogs, including her 4-month-old puppy Ruby, were on a walk near 66th Place and Oak Street when two pit bulls ran up and pinned Ruby to the ground. When her other dog ran off, the loose dogs ran after it. Thanks to bystanders, they were able to scare the pit bulls off, but Ruby was left with a shattered jaw. Scottsdale Police Department officials are investigating and asking the public to alert officers if anyone sees the pit bulls in question or their owners. (KWTX)
- Snow covered the North Valley for the first time in a while yesterday. On Thursday morning, snow began to pile up in Cave Creek and north Scottsdale neighborhoods. The fire and police departments urged drivers to drive safely in slick conditions. (Arizona Family)
- The Scottsdale Community College (SCC) planetarium offers a deep look into outer space. Every month, the planetarium hosts a free show open to the public. The next public showing is on Mar. 25 and is titled “JWST Sees Possible Missing Links to Galaxy Evolution.” Attendees will be treated to a discussion about the James Webb Space Telescope observations.
