Here are the top three stories today in Scottsdale:
- A man was arrested after this weekend's Scottsdale shooting. 55-year-old Patrick Gruchala was arrested in connection with the Saturday afternoon shooting at N. 104th Way that hospitalized a man in extremely critical condition. Officers learned he intended to shoot one of the homeowners but instead targeted an innocent person who had come to the home on an appointment. He was booked on attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. (Arizona's Family)
- There's a proposed deal to restore water service that was cut off by Scottsdale. Nearly eight weeks after the Rio Verde Foothills' loss of water service, the City Council is expected to vote today (Feb. 21) at 5:00 p.m. on a draft agreement with Maricopa County that would restart water service for at least two years. (12news.com KPNX)
- Scottsdale is celebrating black history month with a free jazz concert. William “Doc” Jones and the City of Scottsdale will pay tribute to MLK with a “Dear Martin” concert. - Yesterday morning, Scottsdale and Rio Verde technical rescue teams made patient contact with a female hiker in her 50s. The hiker had an ankle injury, so crews used a UTV to extract her. Scottsdale Paramedics treated and evaluated her for transportation to a local hospital. (Scottsdale Fire Department via Facebook)
