- Norman A. Dominguez has been arrested after a road rage incident escalated to a stabbing at 7-Eleven in Scottsdale last Sunday afternoon. Dominguez told police that the victim "cut him off on the Loop 101, so he followed him to the 7-Eleven and approached with a pocketknife in his hand." Dominguez and the victim were seen arguing on surveillance camera footage before he stabbed the victim in the stomach and cut his neck and hands. The victim grabbed his cellphone from his vehicle and went into the store to call 911, and Dominguez followed him. Scottsdale police officers arrived, Dominguez was detained, and the victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. (Arizona's Family)
- A long-awaited pedestrian tunnel is now open underneath six lanes of traffic near 124th Street and Shea Boulevard. Cyclists, equestrians, and children from the five nearby schools can now utilize the tunnel, which took about "10 years from conception to completion." The project ended up costing about $4 million, and most of the money came from "the federal government and Maricopa County." (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
- Opportunities are available to help neighbors in need with the 2023 Adopt-a-Senior and Adopt-a-Family holiday programs! Consider sponsoring a family or senior in need by completing a donor form. Participants will be matched with an eligible senior or family and provided with "a brief biography and wish list." (City of Scottsdale)
