Here are the top three stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. The Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce announced that it will be forming a new military affairs committee. The purpose of the committee is to help focus on issues and outreach that will strengthen the relationships between veterans and local businesses. The committee is now seeking Chamber members who are local veterans, veteran-owned businesses, veteran-supportive employers, or leaders of military employer resource groups to join, and it will hold its first meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Scottsdale Chamber Board Room. 2. The Super Bowl and WM Phoenix Open parties have brought the increased need for event staff, and a local Scottsdale staffing agency Etc. By Emily, is one of the agencies staffing the numerous events around the Valley. The agency is unique in that it bridges the work gap for people in recovery or who are struggling to find work by helping them get paying jobs. The agency staffs around 900 people and aims to give second chances to people going sober who are in the process of getting their lives back together. (12 News)
  3. A Scottsdale man pleaded guilty to charges related to a multi-million dollar scheme where he created a company in order to claim fake music royalties for over 50,000 music recordings that he didn't own. In total, the claims helped him get an estimated $23.4 million. Jose Teran, 32, was indicted for the allegations in November 2021 and pleaded guilty to the charges last week. (Arizona's Family)
