- Dozens of Rio Verde Foothills residents have filed a lawsuit against Scottsdale as water woes pressure the city. The lawsuit is designed to force Scottsdale into helping the community temporarily secure a water supply after it was cut off by the city on Jan. 1. Earlier this week, approximately 60 Rio Verde Foothills residents gather to protest at the city's civic center. (Scottsdale Area Association of REALTORS)
- Theater lovers rejoice! The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts has several fun and exciting shows lined up for the beginning of the year. According to Meribeth Reeves, managing director of the center, the focus for this year is "fun." Starting Jan. 19, eight showings of "Assisted Living: The Musical" will take place through Jan. 22. This musical will be followed by a single performance of "Lucy Loves Desi— A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Sitcom," which takes place at 8 p.m. on Jan. 28. Visit the center's website to see all the events lined up for the year. (citysuntimes)
- A 13-year-old from nearby Gilbert recently had the opportunity of a lifetime when she was offered the opportunity to choreograph a musical at Desert Stages Theatre right here in Scottsdale. Maddie-Sue Miller is a young dancer and actress who has performed in about 30 plays but was recently given the chance to choreograph the musical rendition of "A Christmas Story" based on the 1983 film of the same name. Miller has aspirations of attending The Julliard School and is currently working on her next play, "The Drowsy Chaperone." (The Arizona Republic)

The restaurant utilizes "innovative cooking technology" to make oven-grilled chicken taste as though it was deep fried. You can check out Sneakybird's full menu here. (KTAR.com)
