Here are the top three stories today in Scottsdale:
- The Scottsdale City Council voted on a proposal to restore water service to the Rio Verde Foothills during its council meeting on Tuesday evening. The bill proposed that the city buy and treat water, which it would sell to Maricopa County, and then the county would be responsible for getting the water to residents in the Rio Verde Foothills community. Scottsdale Mayor David Ortega expressed concerns about the proposal and asked where the water for the proposal would come from. (12news.com KPNX)
- The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show is here in town until Sunday, Feb. 26, and thanks to $60,000 funding from the Scottsdale City Council, it's been supporting small businesses by giving them a place to sell their products in a pop-up venue. Small business owners who are participating in the week-long event talked about the benefits of meeting customers from around the world and bringing attention to what their small businesses have to offer. - Commercial real estate developer Creation announced that it has purchased 18 acres at the Scottsdale Airpark for a $60 million industrial center. The groundbreaking for the new Thunderbird Commerce Park will take place later this year. The new industrial building will be located on the southeast corner of Scottsdale and Thunderbird boards.
