Scottsdale Hires Sonia Andrews As Next City Treasurer
The city of Scottsdale wrapped up its national search by hiring Sonia Andrews as the next city treasurer on Wednesday.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The city of Scottsdale hired Peoria Deputy Finance Director Sonia Andrews as its next city treasurer. Andrews will start her new job June 1.
Andrews, who also served as the chief financial officer of Bend, Oregon, has worked for the West Valley city since 2014.
Scottsdale Mayor David D. Ortega welcomed Andrews Wednesday, saying in a statement that her track record spoke highly of what she can do for the West's Most Western Town. “Scottsdale’s financial management and outlook is of the utmost importance,” Ortega said. “I am pleased that Sonia Andrews was appointed to assume these responsibilities."

Andrews wrapped up a seven-year run in Peoria that saw more than $260 million in bonds and debt instruments issued and two community facilities districts formed, Scottsdale said.
Andrews is a longtime certified public accountant and said she's happy to help wherever she can to ensure that Scottsdale tcontinues its current financial trajectory in the future.

“I appreciate the Mayor and Council's confidence in me as the City Treasurer has a great fiduciary responsibility for the city's finances," Andrews said in the release. "I look forward to joining the Scottsdale team in serving the citizens of this amazing city.”
