  1. According to WalletHub, a personal finance website, Scottsdale is one of the top three cities for retirement. Out of 180 cities, Scottsdale scored third after Charleston, SC and Orlando, FL on 48 key metrics. In the overall quality of life (based on caring community, mild weather and air quality) our city ranked second in the U.S. (KTAR.com)
  2. Janene Hoskovec, a Scottsdale resident, has gone viral — and maybe not for reasons you expect. A video first posted on Reddit shows Hoskovec in a Nebraska grocery store deliberately coughing on a mother and daughter, and mocking them for wearing masks. In Lincoln, Nebraska, where the situation occurred, there is a mask mandate. The original Reddit poster (the mother who was coughed on) indicates that she posted the story out of shock, wished she handled the situation better in the story, and does not condone doxxing or harassment of anyone. (Phoenix New Times and Reddit)
  3. Marti Eldean, a teacher at Horizon High School in Scottsdale, is having her students create chains out of red, white and blue paper with the names of victims from the 9/11 attacks. The finished project, called "All Names Matter", will be unveiled on November 10. (Scottsdale Progress)
