Here are the top three stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. On Feb. 24, a Tesla crashed into a Scottsdale building on Paradise Lane and then caught on fire twice. The driver, allegedly a teenage girl trying to park the vehicle, crashed into the building, and Scottsdale Fire crews extinguished the resulting fire that engulfed the Tesla. Then, the same Tesla caught on fire on southbound Scottsdale Road at Greenway Hayden Loop while it was being towed. The tow truck driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The crash and fires are still under investigation. (ABC 15)
  2. The Scottsdale City Council recently approved two measures, resolution No. 12743 and resolution No. 12736, to help improve local victim services. The first resolution
accepts a $26,266 grant from the Office of the Arizona Attorney General for the Scottsdale Family Advocacy Center. The second resolution, a "technology solution," will use technology to help notify both victims and reporting parties of police action and community services. (The Scottsdale Daily Beat)
  3. The Scottsdale Memorial for the Fallen will be dedicated in a public ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Mar. 18 at Scottsdale City Hall’s Memorial Lawn. The new memorial honors the 66 members of the Scottsdale community who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the course of military duty during the nation's armed conflicts. (City of Scottsdale)
