Woman Accused Of Hitting Maricopa County Lieutenant Identified
Lt. Chad Brackman was struck by a vehicle and killed while he was directing traffic in Scottsdale Wednesday morning.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Police have publicly identified the woman accused of hitting and killing Maricopa County Sheriff's Lieutenant Chad Brackman on Wednesday morning as he directed traffic in Scottsdale.
The woman is year 69-years-old, from Scottsdale, according to a news release from Scottsdale Police.
Patch is not sharing her name because she has not been arrested or charged with any crimes. Police said they would not release any more information about the crash because they are still investigating Brackman's death.

Brackman, 47, was directing traffic near the intersection of 87th Street and McDowell Road around 10:50 a.m. Wednesday when he was hit.
He was taken to HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center for treatment, where he was later pronounced dead, according to police.

Contreras-Gonzalez was also taken to a hospital for evaluation and was released later that day, police said.
Brackman was a 22-year veteran of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. He leaves behind his wife, two children and two step-children.
