TUCSON, AZ — Police located the man accused of shooting and killing Savannah Narcaroti Tuesday during an episode of road rage, thanks to the help of the public and the media.

Police received information that helped them find Nichols after hosting a press conference asking for help in identifying the person they believed shot Narcaroti, police said.

They found Nichols at a hotel Wednesday evening, where they also found the motorcycle they believe he was riding when the shooting happened. Police say the motorcycle was stolen.

Narcaroti, 21, died Tuesday after being shot in midtown Tucson, police said in a news release. She and the man in the car with her at the time were both treated for gunshot wounds at Banner University Hospital. Narcaroti died shortly after arriving at the hospital, according to police.

Police are unsure how it started, but say that Narcaroti and the man with her were driving in the Midtown area of Tucson when either the driver or passenger on a motorcycle shot at them in the 3700 block of East Monte Vista Drive.

Narcaroti was the second person killed due to suspected road rage within one week in Tucson. The other killing happened Oct. 13 when Louis James Gallardo, 53, was fatally stabbed on Interstate-10.
