Gabby Giffords Shooting: FBI Releases Documents, Videos, Photos
Seven years after Jared Loughner killed 6 and wounded 13 as he tried to assassinate Rep. Gabby Goffords, the FBI has released evidence.
TUCSON, AZ – So much of it seems so mundane. A man in a checkout line looks up and smiles at a surveillance camera. A stack of cases of soda. A folding metal chair. A car in the parking lot. A backpack.
It's only when you start looking more closely that you notice things. One of the cases of soda has a bullet hole. The metal chair does as well. The car had one of its windows blown out. The backpack has cases of ammunition. The man smiling at the camera is Jared Loughner.
The photos are among hundreds released by the FBI from their investigation into the massacre on January 8, 2011 in Tucson that left 6 dead and 13 wounded. One of the wounded was Rep. Gabby Giffords who Loughner tried to assassinate.

On video, Loughner can be seen wandering through the Safeway for more than 10 minutes, in the end, settling on a bottle of water.
As he waits in line, he can be seen looking up at the camera and smiling. He then says, "I'm sorry. Thank you" in American Sign Language, something that he had studied while at Pima Community College.
One minute later, Loughner – having walked out of the Safeway – opens fire.
Many of the photos are of evidence that the FBI and Pima County Sheriff's Department had gathered after the shooting.
Many of Loughner's own words can be seen scribbled on various pieces of paper including the instruction manual for the gun.
"History in the f----- making," he wrote. "You have a piece of a Historic Gun Mother------".
One of the items released by the FBI is the audio of an automated call that Giffords had made inviting people to the event.
"Congress on your Corner" this Saturday at the Safeway located at 7110 North Oracle," she says. "That is the Southeast Corner of Oracle and Ina. I will be there with my staff from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. to meet with you in person and answer any of your questions about what's going on in Congress. For more information, please call 881-3588. Again, this is Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and I hope to meet with you in person this Saturday."
