Pima Animal Care Center Took In 43 Dogs And 33 Cats In One Day

The center asked for people to help by adopting or holding onto friendly strays until the owner is located.

TUCSON, AZ — Pima County Animal Care Center was full Thursday after taking in 46 dogs and 33 cats on Wednesday, the center said in a Facebook post.

The center asked the public to help clear out some of the animals by coming in to look as soon as possible if you have lost a pet, holding onto friendly strays while you search for the owner or adopting a pet.

Adult pet adoptions at the center are $5 through Sunday, with a $20 licensing fee for dogs.

The center was also asking for volunteers to foster dogs with medical issues. Its intensive care unit was full as of Thursday. The shelter prefers to send animals recovering from medical issues to foster homes to recover, instead of putting them on the shelter floor with the rest of the animals.
