Outdoor Dining Could Become Permanent In Agoura Hills
Tables went into parking lots during the pandemic in what was meant to be temporary. Now the city wants to explore making that permanent.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — People love outdoor dining. In fact, a survey of about a dozen Agoura Hills restaurants by city staff found that on average, 62 percent of patrons request to dine outside.
During the pandemic, Agoura Hills, like many cities around the country, made it easy for restaurant to expand their footprint into parking lots and sidewalks. As COVID-19 restrictions continue to dissolve, the city wants to create a way to allow restaurants to make outdoor dining a permanent part of their operations.
The Planning Commission on Thursday will meet to discuss how the city can best go about that. Of particular concern is ensuring restaurants have adequate parking spaces, meet ADA requirements and health rules, and determining the permitting process.
