AGOURA HILLS, CA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Caroline Bogeaus who nominated her daughter Allison of Agoura Hills, who's been focused on working with organizations seeking to eradicate pancreatic cancer after her father died of the disease.

How do you know the star local student?

She's my daughter.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Allison lost her father to pancreatic cancer in 2021. The last two years she has signed us up and raised money for the PanCan Purplestride walk. She is on a mission to eradicate pancreatic cancer. She doesn't want anyone else to lose a loved one to this deadly disease.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

She is young but strong and brave!

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Allison!
