Agoura Hills Voters Weigh In On Sheriff, Supervisor

Tuesday is the last day for Agoura Hills residents to cast their votes in a number of key county, state and national races.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — Tuesday is the last day for Agoura Hills voters to weigh in on a number of county, state and national races ahead of the California Primary Election, though few of the local offices report directly to Agoura Hills.

Agoura Hills voters can cast their votes at Calabasas Founders Hall, 200 Civic Center Way, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday — election day.

Want to vote from home? Voters can fill out their ballots at home and mail in their decisions by Tuesday, leave them at one of the city's drop off locations or drop them off at one of the in-person voting sites.

At a countywide level, the Los Angeles County Sheriff and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, District 3 races will directly affect Agoura Hills residents. The massive 3rd District, currently represented by Sheila Kuehl, covers much of the San Fernando Valley and stretches from Malibu to Hollywood. Meet the six candidates for LA Co. Board of Supervisors, District 3.

Los Angeles County voters will also pick a new representative for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors District 1, which covers much of East Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley.

One of the most competitive congressional races in the nation is LA County’s new 27th Congressional District, where U.S. Rep. Mike Garcia (R-Santa Clarita) — an incumbent of the former 25th District — finds himself fighting for re-election in a district that now skews decidedly Democratic.

At the state level, voters will decide whether to give Gov. Gavin Newsom a second term and U.S. Sen. Alex Padilla his first full term in office after he was appointed to the position in 2021 to fill the Senate seat vacated by Vice President Kamala Harris. Attorney General Rob Bonta is also running for his first full term in office after being appointed to fill the position vacated by Xavier Becerra, who left to serve in the Biden administration.

Voters will pick a new state controller, as Betty Yee is termed out. Other statewide races include secretary of state and lieutenant governor.
