Councilwoman Linda Northrup Resigns Amid Cancer Battle
Former Agoura Hills Mayor Linda Northrup is stepping down from city council immediately, she announced Monday in a letter to colleagues.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — Council member and former mayor Linda Northrup is stepping down from Agoura Hills City Council effective immediately, she announced Monday in a letter to her colleagues.
Northrup decided to leave after finding breast cancer recovery more difficult than expected, she said. Northrup was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020.
"As you all know, the past two years have been particularly difficult for me and my family as I fought cancer during the global pandemic," Northrup wrote in a letter to the council, Mayor Deborah Klein Lopez and City Manager Nathan Hamburger. "My prognosis remains very positive; however, recovery has been a much greater challenge than I ever could have imagined."
