Dramatic High School Program to Affect Thursday Morning Traffic

The following information was provided in a press release from parent coordinators Gail Fridstein and Jill Misel.

Agoura High School will be conducting their Every 15 Minutes safe driving program on the morning of Thursday, April 11. The program offers real-life experience without the real-life risks of drinking and texting while driving.

This emotionally charged two-day event involves a simulated traffic collision that takes place in front of the high school along Driver Avenue to dramatically demonstrate the dangerous consequences of this type of behavior.

The program title comes from the sobering statistic that every 15 minutes, someone in the United States dies from an alcohol-related traffic collision.

The effects of this program on the residents in the surrounding area will be as follows:

  • Limited parking in front of the high school from April 10th – 12th.
  • Driver will be closed from Argos to Easterly Rd. on April 11th from 9:30 a.m. thru 12:20 p.m.

"The lessons learned by our students are invaluable to all who live in our community," Jill Misel, project coordinator, said in a press release.
